Discover Your Path to Healing

Rediscover, Reconnect, Rekindle

At First Light Wilderness Therapy, our goal for every student is to achieve meaningful change by creating an environment of adventure where joy is re-discovered and nurtured, where adventure leads to self-discovery, and where relationships heal and grow. Our program is designed to support the building of a foundation for healthy living that is sustainable. Set in the serenity of the Blue Ridge Mountains in northern Georgia, our field area is nestled in the Chattahoochee and Oconee National Forest and is sprinkled with miles of clear-running streams and rivers, making it an ideal setting for our evidence-based outdoor behavioral healthcare.

Evidence-Based Treatment

We prioritize creating a safe and supportive environment where boys and girls our students will experience both a quiet immersion in nature and a healthy dose of adventure while working toward building effective coping skills, increased self-awareness, and sustainable behaviors. Our therapy combines attachment-focused and brain-based modalities to support students in working through their thoughts and actions while exploring the outdoors to create lasting change. We offer various approaches, including Canine Therapy, Brainspotting, HeartMath, and Mastery Projects. Our nomadic approach means that students learn flexibility and adaptability while exploring a beautiful temperate rainforest with lush greenery, endless streams, and year-round enchantment to provide a calming and scenic backdrop for growth and healing.
